During hard cornering or aggressive acceleration the stock fuel pump frequently encounters fuel starvation which drops fuel pressure and can cause engine damage. To prevent starvation issues, we have designed our submerged surge tanks to draw continuous fuel from inside the surge tank which in return keeps fuel pressure solid in every situation.
The surge tank will hold 2 liters of fuel which is plenty to prevent any fuel starvation issues. You can use your factory in-tank or inline pump to keep the surge tank full. The pump is sealed using a cnc machined o-ringed top plate.
There are 3 ports on the top of the tank which comes with -6 fittings that are also o-ringed to provide a leak-free install. The -6 o-ring boss inputs/outputs can be customized for a large variety of fuel fittings such as AN bends, AN straights, stainless hose connections, push lock hose, braided lines, hard lines, and more. The fuel pump is secured into the top plate using a black cnc machined clamp plate providing a secure leak-proof install. AEM 380LPH FUEL PUMP Our surge tank is combined with the AEM 380LPH fuel pump with -8 fuel supply fitting. The AEM pump can supply fuel for setups running 800+HP on standard fuels. For even larger power setups. The AEM 380LPH high flow, high pressure fuel pump is perfect for high performance naturally aspirated and forced induction EFI setups. It utilizes the industry standard 044 Style and -8AN female outlet connections for easy installation. You can substitute different fitting sizes on both the inlet and outlet. The 50-1005 fuel pump delivers incredible performance and value. AEMs 380LPH fuel pump is capable of supporting over 1200HP normally aspirated and a whopping 860 HP at 30 psi of boost! It flows 380LPH (100gph) at 43 PSI, 340LPH (90gph) at 73 PSI, and 270LPH (71gph) at 120 PSI. Complete flow curves from 35 to 120 PSI and current draw vs.
Fuel pressure charts are shown below. The AEM 380LPH fuel pump is designed for use with gasoline. Alcohol fuels can be used, but pump life may be diminished. A male -8AN discharge fitting with integral high pressure check valve, terminal nuts, terminal boots and installation instructions are included. AEM FUEL PUMP VOLTAGE SPECS: Connector Terminal: 6mm stud positive, 5mm stud negative Min Voltage Input: 10 volts Max Voltage Input: 18 volts Current Draw (40 psi): 9.73 amps no check valve, 10.68 amps with check valve (13.5v) Current Draw (120 psi): 16.07 amps no check valve, 17.13 amps with check valve (13.5v) Fuse: 25 amps (13.5v), 30 amps (13.5v) MAX.
